Indian head massage, also known as ‘champissage’, is an ancient Indian tradition, practiced for more than a thousand years. Traditionally, herbs and botanicals were used to promote healing, relaxation and wellbeing. Certain natural oils such as coconut, olive and almond were used to enhance health and vitality.
Now the practice is much the same: the application of gentle pressure and massage to certain points on the head and face to stimulate lymph, blood flow and oxygen within the upper body. And contrary to popular belief, Indian head massage is not just confined to your head but involves your face, shoulders and neck.
For pure relaxation Indian head and face massage is excellent. As a reset to your busy lifestyle it’s possible to feel stresses and strains ease away. Aches, pains and tensions in the head and neck are massaged, making it ideal for those suffering from office-posture strains and other pulls and tensions from injury or muscular problems. If you have sinus troubles, Indian head and face massage may be particularly beneficial as application on certain points helps to stimulate and drain the lymph. Insomnia can also be improved by the relaxation and stimulation of this ancient massage technique.
At my private consultation room, I will welcome you with herbal tea and we’ll sit down comfortably to a consultation about how Indian head and face massage can help you. For the actual massage you may be seated or laid down on a warmed treatment couch on heated blankets. We may use crystals to help us determine what combination of relaxation therapy will work best for you. It may be that you will benefit from a combination of head and face massage, reiki and/or ear candling. For the Indian head and face massage itself, cushions will be placed gently under your neck and shoulders, with concentration on the pressure points of your head and face. Aromatherapy oils will be used for your complete relaxation and pleasure.

I had Reiki for the first time and was a bit sceptical. It started with an Indian head massage, and ended with meditation. The in-between bit was Reiki. I loved every minute and didn’t want it to end. My mind felt so much clearer afterwards. I would highly recommend this and will be booking in again very soon.
I have recently had a holistic session with Natalie which included Hopi ear candles, Reiki and a facial massage. I have ear problems so I thought I would try the ear candles. Over a week after the session my ears are no longer irritable, I will definitely have the candles again. The Reiki also really benefits me and takes me to a more peaceful and calmer place. This really helps my mental and spiritual health as I have a really stressful job and often experience anxiety. The facial massage was an added bonus which was so relaxing and revitalising. I have decided to make this a regular part of my fitness regime as I have now realised that my emotional and spiritual health is just as important as my physical health.
Been to see Nat for a Hopi ear candle session as my head’s been feeling really stuffy and I must say I walked out feeling so fresh and relaxed. I’ve only had a Hopi candle treatment once before while at a spa but this was so much better!! Not only did I get my candle treatment but she also gave me a mini facial with a head massage and a Reiki session while I lay there and relaxed, taking in the beautiful smell and sounds. I just want to thank Nat as I felt like I floated out. I felt so relaxed and fresh after!! Deffo recommend!!!
I just want to say how good my ear candling was. I felt really good after and I could hear myself more clearly! It was relaxing and no pain. The head and facial massage was also amazing. I definitely will be recommending you for relaxing and personal training sessions.
I highly recommend Nat’s Reiki and Indian head massages. During my session I felt an instant connection to Nat’s energy. I was surprised at how strong I could feel it within certain areas of my body. I felt relaxed and at one with myself and comfortable with the whole experience. There were specific parts of my body that ached before the session, Nat wasn’t aware of these beforehand but she picked up on them during the session. It wasn’t till the morning after that I could feel a difference in my knee, it felt less painful. I’m not saying it cured it but it definitely did something.
As for the Indian head massage – AMAZING!!
I felt fully relaxed and by the end of the session my stress levels had been reduced tenfold.
